There have typically only been two basic types of wheelchair positioning available:
· Horizontal Seat - giving acceptable pressure distribution with a neutral pelvic position. Trunk stability is however sacrificed along with propulsion efficiency.
· Angled Seat - giving improved trunk stability and enhanced propulsion. The pelvis is however rotated rearward with the tendency for increased lordosis, combined with poor pressure distribution.

The RGK Ergonomic Seating System is the superior option.
· The RGK Ergonomic Seating System combines the best of both elements to give the optimum in spine/pelvic positioning, pressure distribution and wheelchair propulsion.
The seat may be angled with the exception of the rear section which is horizontal, the backrest is set vertical in the lower section for lumbar support, while the higher section
has a rearward angle to allow the natural kyphosis of the thoracic section of the spine.
